Kent K. Morikado, DDS, PC
Dr. Kent K. Morikado was born and raised in Chicago. He attended the University of Illinois in Chicago and graduated with a Bachelor of Science with honors in biology. He then attended the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago where he received a Bachelor of Science in Dentistry and his Doctor of Dental Surgery.
After graduation he worked for the U.S. Public Health Service, Indian Health Service. He was a staff dental officer then chief dental officer on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in Montana. As the chief dental officer he managed and oversaw the operation of the dental clinic as well as providing all aspects of dental care to the reservation population.
Dr. Morikado opened his practice in Des Plaines and moved to his current location in Arlington Heights in 2002. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society and Chicago Dental Society.
He is an enthusiastic student and has attended the Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education, in San Francisco CA, the University of Minnesota Esthetics Dental Continuum, and the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education.
Dr. Morikado resides in Arlington Heights with his wife Peggy and their two sons. He enjoys travel, photography, camping and is involved with the cub and boy scouts.
Chikako has a unique background. She grew up in Tokyo and Osaka, before moving to London for four years with her parents. She had worked in the pharmaceutical industry in Japan for many years before becoming a freelance simultaneous interpreter.
Chikako has been working with Dr. Morikado since 1996. Aside from the administrative work, she has also been trained in dental assisting. She is particularly interested in learning more about clinical diagnoses and implant dentistry. She has been working as an interpreter for the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) for the past six years providing communication assistance to Japanese dentists in their Board Certification Oral Examinations.
Chikako’s passion is in education and teaching. In 1991, She came to the U.S to pursue higher education. After obtaining a Master’s Degree in Speech Communication, she started teaching public speaking at Oakton Community College in 1997. She is also active in academic research, and has recently published her original work in a scholarly journal. Chikako also teaches Japanese at Oakton.

Jai is our friendly dental assistant who always welcomes you with a big smile. She is originally from Seoul, Korea where she obtained a degree in Hotel Management, and worked for major hotel franchises.
In 1993, Jai moved to the U.S. She has been a dental assistant since 2000, and joined our practice in 2004. Jai is responsible and well organized. She manages our clinical (back office) operation. She is fluent in English, Korean, and is very quickly learning Japanese. Her career goal is to become a dental hygienist.
Jai has a passion for cake baking and decorating.
Jai and her husband, Simon, have two children, Paula and Eugene.
